Last time, my father ended with his death. Although I was completely devastated by his passing, I had to keep the Defesco Legacy going! So, without further adieu, meet the newest heir of the Defesco Legacy!!
In case you forgot, my name is Ezequiel Defesco. My parent’s constantly referred to me as Zeek, so I will continue that (I bet if someone called me Ezequiel in the park, I wouldn’t even answer; it’s practically not my name). Most importantly, my aspiration is Successful Lineage, which I feel won me the position as heir. I mean, what a perfect aspiration for a legacy! So, let me get started with my part of this story.
With my parents both dying so close together, I was completely heart broken. I loved my parents. It was so upsetting seeing my father be so successful, but having to let go so soon. It really hit me hard. Ebony, on the other hand, could care less.
Luckily, social services allowed Ebony and I to keep the house (as long as we continued paying the bills!).
Before my father passed, he warned me how outrageous the bills would be. And, although he left me with over $42,000, he also warned that it wouldn’t last long.
As a result, I demanded that Ebony get a job to help out. Of course, I got a job too. She was hired as a Sales Floor Clerk at the local convenience store, and I found a job as a landscaper. The pay was very low for both of us, but at least $100, or so every day would help pay for things like food.
I still couldn’t wrap my mind around the fact that my parents were gone. I could not stop crying. I cried in school, at work, and even in the tub.
Ebony and I remained close, so, when our parents died, we decided to start sleeping in their bed together. We didn’t even wanna’ know what they did in this bed. The sheets smelled gross. We washed them at least 50 times, but still smelled the foul odor.
Nevertheless, it was still the most comfortable bed in the house.
I didn’t quite enjoy my first day at work, and I could not wait for my last day.
Luckily, I would only work here for the weekend. Because my birthday was quickly approaching.
Since I needed some landscaping skills in order to be successful at work, I decided to create a family garden! I know, I shouldn’t be spending money, but I thought it’d pay off in the long run.
In case you were wondering about Ezra, we remained close. When he found out that ma’ and pa’ passed, he stopped over almost every day after work to catch up with me. Thankfully, my bro, aka my best friend, knew how to cheer me up.
“C’mon Zeek! Put a smile on your face… You can’t meet your niece or nephew with that frown!” Ezra revealed the big news to be, and it really did put a smile on my face. Ever since he aged, he always wanted a large family. It was no surprise that he was already married and expecting his first.
“Oh Ezra! I’m so excited! I really cannot wait,” I revealed my excitement.
Too bad, I later learned that Ezra would be moving out of the country, and I’d probably never see him or my niece/nephew. Luckily, he didn’t reveal this news to me for a few more weeks. Otherwise, I’m not sure I would have made it.
The next night, I decided to head out to the bar for my birthday. People kept questioning my age, but I reassured them I was legal to drink. Then, I realized a child was sitting next to me!
“What the? Who’s child is this?” I asked the bartender.
Too bad she didn’t answer me. The girl next to me did.
“She’s mine… My name’s Callie. Nice to meet you,” Callie was pretty attractive. And her daughter was cute! I always dreamed of a little girl of my own.
I must’ve had a bit too much to drink, because, I ended up passed out on the bar floor.
It was a a great birthday celebration. Especially since I couldn’t remember any of it.
Eventually, I found myself standing on my lawn… What happened last night? I thought to myself, when suddenly…
I aged into a young adult! I rolled in the ambitious trait.
Now that I was an adult, it was time for even more fun!
But, before anymore fun, the first bill also rolled in that day. I opened the envelope only to find a bill for $8,784! Damn! My father was right. These bills were insane. I signed off on it, and had no more worries.
Until I heard a knock at the door. Who could that be? With Ezra in another country, I did not know anyone else in the town.
I walked towards the door, opened, and found a girl with black hair standing there.
“Zeek! How’s in going?” She barged right in the house. I was confused.
“Uhhh, do I know you?” I asked the mysterious woman.
“C’mon Zeek. Don’t be silly! It’s me, Callie, from the bar last night… Remember?”
“Ummm. Not exactly. Well, it’s nice to meet you,” I seriously couldn’t remember anything from the other night…
Did I sleep with this woman? If so, kudos to me! She was gorgeous.
Surprisingly, Callie spent the night. Nothing crazy happened. She slept in my old bed…
This whole situation was so odd to me because I felt like we just met, but obviously something happened at the bar the other night. Why else would a girl sleep over my house? Suddenly, that’s when I found out.
“Darn, I should really be getting home to my husband and kids soon,” Callie dropped the bomb on me.
I almost spit my eggs acrossed the room. Wait a second.
Not only was Callie married, but she also had kidS. Yeah, that’s right, she said kidS, with an ‘S’! I had to ask her about it.
“Ummm. Sorry for asking, but what do you mean?”
“Stop playing silly! You know about Finn and my two children. You even met Ashely at the bar the other night, remember?”
I did kind of remember sitting next to a little girl the other night, but not completely. I was freaked out.
Callie stood up, and said “Alright, I’ll see you later Zeek… Hopefully when you remember me!” She giggled and left.
What kind of trouble had I gotten myself into?
After working on my garden, I was just about the walk inside, when I felt a tap on my back. I turned around, only to find her standing beside me, again. Callie.
“What do you want?” I asked, and suddenly realized it came off kind of harsh. “I mean, like shouldn’t you be with your family?” I asked.
“No. I should be right here, with the man I made out with at the bar,” Callie revealed a huge twist.
I kissed her. I wonder if I went any further. I couldn’t help to feel guilty, but there was no denying Callie.
“Oh. Haha. Yeah. About that,” I really had no idea what to say. I tried to wave my hand in a flirty way.
“Oh Zeek. You’re still super cheesey even though you’re finally an adult. You do know that’s the only reason we didn’t woo hoo?” Yet another bombed dropped by the surprising Callie.
So, not only did I make out with a married women (who also had children!), but I nearly woo hoo’d here… What was I getting myself into?
Suddenly, Callie winked at me. What did that mean? This was the first girl a talked to in my life. I could definitely tell Callie was becoming flirty.
“Callie, I really shouldn’t be doing-” I started to say, but then…
Our lips met.
Callie’s face was as shocked as mine.
“Oh Zeek. Let’s take this inside, honey,” Callie started tugging me inside.
Seriously, what was I getting myself into?!
“Now that you’re an adult,” Callie started. “You’re all mine!” Callie tossed me into my parents bed, and we unexpectedly woo hoo’d. All I can say is:
As the roosters woke me in the morning, I felt energized. My first woo hoo.
I also couldn’t help but feel a little guilty. I could not imagine if my mother slept with someone other than my father. This was surely a sticky situation.
Surely, some gardening would help ease my mind.
Hopefully, last night was the last time I’d see Callie.
As I finished up watering the last plant, I stood up to go inside, when once again, Callie caught me by surprise.
“Oh hey Callie,” I actually greeted her this time, even though I wasn’t very happy to see her.
“Zeek, I’ve got some bad news,” Callie informed me.
“Oh no! Please don’t tell me your husband found out. Or was it the children. Please don’t tell me-“
“Zeek, I’m pregnant.”
My heart literally fell out of my chest. Was she messing with me? This could not be true.
“Duh, duh, blah,” I spit out jumbled sounds. I could not even speak.
“Finn cannot find out Zeek. I don’t know what to do. We should have never woo hoo’d,” Callie started panicking even more than me.
This girl was insane. How many bombs was she going to drop on me?!
What do you think Callie did next?… That’s right, she dropped another bomb on me.
“I was wondering if I could, uhhh… Move in, until I had the baby?” Callie asked.
Oh yeah, sure, and when your husband finds you missing, he’s gonna’ murder me. I thought to myself.
“Callie, I’m really sorry, but you-” I started.
“Great! I have my bags in the taxi.” And Callie started unloading her belongings.
Well, I guess she was moving in whether I liked it or not.
“If you’re moving in, you have to help with my garden,” I demanded.
“Oh sure thing. Not a problem,” Callie bent right down and started weeding.
I knew with Callie living in the house, and our child on the way soon, I had to get a job. I felt obligated to. I followed my father’s footsteps, getting a job in the astronaut field. I figured with my physically gifted trait, I’d have no problem getting fit for space missions.
That’s when it hit me. I thought up a scenario in my head:
What if Callie really wasn’t pregnant with my kid? What if it was her husband, Finn’s after all? Maybe they were just going through tough times? Maybe they couldn’t afford another child (after all, they already had two)? I started hyperventilating. This was such a bad situation. Callie was so suspicious.
Furthermore, I could’ve swore we had protected woo hoo…
I tried playing some chess to take my mind off of all the crazy scenarios flying threw my head. Thankfully, I finally settled that Callie was a nice girl and the baby was mine.
But then again, what nice girl cheats on their husband like this?…
I definitely did not want to spend the rest of my life with her.
Surprising enough, Callie actually kept up with the garden while I continued working on my skills for work.
I didn’t really wanna’ be around Callie anyway. She kind of scared me. I didn’t know what bomb she’d drop on me next.
One day, Finn (Callie’s husband) showed up at our front door.
“Hi. You’re Zeek, I’m guessing,” Finn greeted me at the door. “Can I come in?”
“Uhhh,” I knew Callie was upstairs, so the coast was clear. “Sure.”
“Where’s my wife?” He asked.
I couldn’t speak. I could only think about all the things I did with Callie. He’s got to know.
“Where is she, damnit?!” He demanded.
“I, uhhhh, don’t know,” I stuttered.
“Okay, well, if you happen to see her, make sure she knows that Ashley, that’s her daughter, by the way, has been up crying 24/7 for her mother,” Finn revealed the heart breaking news.
The news I was responsible for. I felt terrible.
That’s when Ashley walked through the doors. Her eyes were swollen and red. I could tell she had been crying for countless hours. I suddenly remembered seeing her at the bar on my birthday.
“I want my mommy,” Ashley whined.
I couldn’t hold back any longer. They had to leave before I got myself in serious trouble.
“I’m really sorry guys, but you have to leave,” I kicked Ashley and Finn out. I couldn’t risk telling them. I feared Finn would kill me.
That night, Ebony aged into a young adult and rolled the active trait. She decided to escape the drama by moving out. She had no clue what was going on.
I tried my best to act excited about the birth of my first child (I hoped it was mine). I rubbed Callie’s tummy.
“Oh! I felt it kick!” I exclaimed.
“Haha. I don’t even feel it anymore. This is my third. It doesn’t even phase me,” Callie reminded me.
“Oh… Right.” I suddenly felt disgusted again.
Callie was due any minute.
Sure enough, the next day, Callie went into labor. She barely let out a peep. I guess after two kids already, she was used to the pain.
Callie ran upstairs, let out a few screams, and then I heard a cry.
I knocked on the bathroom door.
“Callie, can I come in?” I asked.
“Yes you may,” Callie responded, as I creaked open the door.
That’s when I saw-…
What happened during Callie’s birth? Will our relationship last? Find out in my next update!
Readers, I want to let you know that this is potentially the last update I will have for I while. Things will get pretty busy for me in the next couple of months. I hope to update as soon as I find time! Thanks for understanding.
